Using the editor
How do I add text to a photo?
Choose the Text tool, press Add heading, then double-click the text on the canvas to type. Pick any Google Font in the Properties panel.
How do I remove the background from a photo?
Select the photo and press Remove background (AI) in the Properties panel. Fix any edge with the Eraser in Restore mode, set the canvas background to None, and download as PNG.
How do I make a logo?
Press Make a logo (or the badge button in the left toolbar), type your brand name and tagline and pick an icon. Every design updates with your name. Click one to edit colors, fonts and layout, then download as PNG for a transparent background.
How do I curve text for a logo or badge?
Select the text and use the Curve slider or the Arch, Smile and Circle buttons in the Properties panel. For a custom shape, draw a path with the Pen tool, select the text and the path together, and press Put text on path.
How do I use curves?
Open the Layers tab and choose Curves under New adjustment layer. Drag the line up to brighten or down to darken, or pick a single color channel. The adjustment changes every layer below it and never edits your photo, so you can hide or delete it any time.
How do I cut out an object with the pen tool?
Press P and click around the object, dragging where the edge curves. Click the first point to close the path, then press Make selection in the Path section and choose Keep only this.
How do I remove a person or object from a photo?
Press J, choose Remove object and paint over the whole object. The background is rebuilt from the surrounding area. You can also select an area with the lasso and press Content-aware fill. For small spots use Spot healing.
How do I make the background transparent?
Open the Canvas tab, set Background to None, then download as PNG.
How do I resize a photo for Instagram or YouTube?
Open the Canvas tab and pick a size such as Instagram post or YouTube thumbnail. Then select your photo and press Fill canvas.
What happens if I close the tab?
Your latest design is kept in this browser. When you come back, press Restore. For a permanent copy, press Save to download a project file.
